Marker flags are used to indicate the position of traps; here the trap is just to the left of the stake, most of it underground. In fields each trap location is also marked with GPS in case the flag is lost therefore ensuring it will be found & recovered off the field. If discretion is needed flags are not deployed.
It is sometimes possible to place traps completely underground and cover with a timber plate which prevents trips & protects them from livestock such as sheep.
Reference
O'Dell Fields Farm, Yelverton
Dereck & Carol Mayer are very happy to provide a reference & you may call them on 07966 452123.
The farm has 100+ Alpacas. Over a phased period of trapping over 40 moles were caught.
Fees
The fee is based on the land area affected. On a small domestic area the fee is based on an initial trap laying visit plus a second visit to retrieve moles & traps and usually there will only be one or two moles in occupation. If no mole is caught then there is no fee to pay. For larger areas a quotation is provided after the initial site visit and often requires a phased approach to remove all moles. Please contact The Molecatcher to discuss fees relating to your circumstance.
Planning for commercial sites
With regard to commercial sites a professional approach is taken and a written plan, risk assessment and method statement is produced for each job. Permission to trap shall be received in writing from the client & site hazards identified to enable risks to be controlled for The Molecatcher, users of the site, animals, children & the public.
The Molecatcher has professional public liability insurance with the NFU Mutual.
